Writ Baese
Owner – Business Development Leader
Writ joined Hill Country Payroll in 2006. Over the past two decades, he has worked with thousands of organizations to transform their HR and payroll processes by combining innovative technology with HCP’s personalized account management team to deliver exceptional results and efficiency.
He is the chair of Momentum, Round Rock’s economic development program and serves on the board of the Round Rock Transportation and Economic Development Corporation and as a vice chair of the Round Rock Chamber. He previously served on the Round Rock City Council from 2015–2021.
Writ’s community involvement includes past leadership with the Round Rock Chamber (2012 board chair), the Rotary Club of Round Rock (past president), and board service with the Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority, the RRISD Partners in Education Foundation, and St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center. The Round Rock Chamber selected him as Citizen of the Year in 2023.
Within the HCM industry, Writ actively participates in professional organizations including the Independent Payroll Providers Association and The Payroll Group, where he has served on the board and as past vice president.
Kim and Writ have been married for 29 years and have two sons, a daughter-in-law, and one grandson.
Writ holds a BA in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
Coby Baese
Coby has served as HCP’s operations leader since 2010. His background in telecom operations is a perfect match for managing the evolving technology of the HCM industry.
He has been an active member with the New Braunfels Chamber for many years. Coby served on the chamber board from 2016-2022, he became a Blue Coat in 2016 and a Blue Coat Life Member in 2020. Coby also served as the chair for the Small Business Committee and the Government Affairs Committee.
Coby is a graduate of the University of Texas with a BBA in Management Information Systems and lives in New Braunfels, TX with his family.
Cale Baese
Cale has been with HCP since 2010. He dedicates his time to solving complex problems for our clients, developing custom reporting, and taking an active role in HCP’s sales and operations efforts.
Cale is an active member of the Hays County community. He was a member of the Kyle Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from 2011-2017 and served as board president in 2013. Cale rejoined the Kyle Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 2024. The chamber selected him as Businessperson of the Year in 2017.
He was appointed by the Hays County Commissioners Court to serve on the Kyle Log House Board from 2009 to 2023. Cale served as both a member and chair of the Charter Review Commission and Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Kyle. He also served as a member of the Hays CISD Facilities and Bond Oversight Committee.
Cale has a BBA in Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Texas State University. He lives in Hays County with his wife and daughter.
Caitlyn Runge
Director of Operations
Caitlyn joined HCP in 2020. She provides direction and leadership across our payroll processing, client solutions, account management, and implementation teams. With a BA in Economics from the University of California, Davis, Caitlyn brings a solid foundation in analytical thinking and a sharp focus on operational efficiency.
Prior to joining HCP, Caitlyn served as operations manager at a pediatric home health care company. It was here where she developed her talent for managing service-oriented teams and systems.
Originally from San Diego, California, Caitlyn is enthusiastic about driving operational excellence and supporting the continued growth of the organization. Outside of work, she and her husband enjoy spending time with their three children.
Amanda Shipp,
Tax Manager
Amanda has been with Hill Country Payroll since 2019 and currently serves as HCP’s Tax Manager. She is responsible for the preparation and filing of tax returns, registration of client accounts, and coordination of tax payment schedules for a diverse portfolio of clients. Her commitment to precision and client service ensures the highest standards of compliance and efficiency.
Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University in 2008. A native of Southeast Houston, she has over ten years of experience in customer service and management, as well as a prior career in education.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Amanda enjoys traveling with her husband and watching movies. She resides with her husband and their two beloved dogs.
Tara Dankof,
Payroll Manager
Tara has been a member of the HCP team since 2022. She leads payroll operations and our account management team. Tara prioritizes data integrity and efficient workflows to create outstanding client experiences.
Before joining HCP, Tara worked in pharmacy operations. This background contributed to her strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to operational excellence.
She holds a BS in Cell and Molecular Biology from Appalachian State University. Tara was raised in Greensboro, North Carolina and now lives in Fischer, TX with her German Shepherd, Rory.
